New Jersey's largest city is about to get a huge economic boost, in the form of a new TV and movie studio. According to officials, the facility is expected to create 600 jobs and generate more than $800 million of "annual economic impact." The studio will be a partnership between Great Point Studios and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), with Lionsgate as the major Hollywood partner. Gov. Phil Murphy has voiced his support for the project, calling it a "transformative" opportunity for Newark. The studio complex will be the first of its kind in New Jersey, and it is hoped that it will help to attract more film and TV productions to the state. With its convenient location and state-of-the-art facilities, the Newark studio is sure to be a major player in the film and TV industry.

The new development project will be located in the South Ward of Newark at Seth Boyden Housing, which is currently seeing other projects being developed. Construction will begin in 2024 on this huge 300K square foot full service entertainment complex that includes production stages ranging from 20k - 30k sq ft., offices space for staff members as well as parking lots capable to accommodate 400 cars and 65 trucks!

The new facility will bring together all aspects of production in one place. From grip and electric equipment to props, set building or location catering - it's now possible thanks for this development! We are excited to see what else is in store for the garden state!
